Avon Blue Escape

Normally, I avoid Avon polishes. They just don't wear on me for more than a few hours, but I saw this one on a friend and went home and ordered it.

Photobucket

So yeah, I happen to have at least two other polishes that are the same exact color, but I just love this shade of bright, neon blue

For reference, here are some similar shades

Photobucket

Here it is next to Zoya Phoebe

And some color wheel swatches:

The three colors are nearly identical, but with different shimmers. Phoebe has top coat over it since its a matte polish. Its really hard to tell in my pictures, but you can kind of tell that Phoebe has the weakest shimmer, Blue Escape the most intense, and Wicked Sweet a little more golden.

The Avon's formula was decent, but pretty sheer. I needed at least three coats and I still had visible nail line (ugh). Layer it over white or silver and I bet you'll get a better result.

Updates and new stuff - flakie edition

So the whole world has been an unending shit show since last october. DF was diagnosed with cancer, my great uncle apparently died in June and this bitch who was "taking care of him" never bothered to tell us (very long story), my beloved grandmother passed away, among other things... its been... bad. I've still been around and about, but I just didn't have the patience to think about writing on this. I would take pictures of my nails but never post them, so i have a lot of them built up O_o

Anyway... on to the polish. Some of you may have seen these already, and I apologize, but I do have a bunch of fun new things :)

Barielle Elle's Spell over red jelly

Photobucket

Isn't it lovely? I waited a long time to wear this, but its worth it :) Elle's Spell is a dark red, sheer jelly with opalescent flakies. The flakies look like every color of the rainbow in the bottle, but mostly appear green and gold while on the nail.

Photobucket

Sooooooooooo pretty :)

Next up: Essie Luxeffects in As Gold As It Gets (over Zoya Sarah)

Photobucket

I really like this one... Its a very sheer champagney gold flake, no opalescence or glitteries in this one

Photobucket

It doesn't get the love of its ultra fantastic friend Shine of the Times, but I still like it :)

Speaking of Shine of the Times...

Photobucket

Whee! I don't know why there's only one picture of this D: Also, I don't have a clue what its over...

Sally Hansen Glass Slipper over Joe Fresh Wave

Photobucket

This one is strange... it really looks like crushed glass... no shimmer, no opalescence, just clear flakes in a clear base.

Photobucket

The thing with this is that it makes polish look pitted, like you had little bits of gravel stuck in your polish at some point. I don't love it...

That's all for now :3

*EDIT*

Of course, I forgot to add one...

Finger Paints Flecked over Chine Glaze Sexy in the City

Photobucket

I really like this one!

Green and teal flakies in a milky base. To look at all of the FP flakies in the bottles, they all look alike... But they turn out a little better on the nail lol

Je Suis Retourné!

Hey ya'll! I'm back from vacation with a mini-haul!
MAC Jade Dragon - dark jade green glass fleck
MAC Originality - liquid gold semi-foil
Orly Bubbly Bombshell - Fuchsia micro and mini glitters
Estee Lauder Ultra Violet - dark plum glass fleck
Zoya Gabrielle - Sunset orange with gold glass fleck

Whee!

How did my Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Kitty Kitty hold up?
Not well.

Here they are on day 1 before i grew so sick of them I could vomit

Photobucket
Here they are this morning. CHIPPING. Chipping is bad for me because it rips layers of my nail off with it. Not. Cool. Would i try them again? They are very fussy to put on, but i think if i went on vacation again, i might. Too expensive for me for a normal week, i change my np daily, so all the effort + short span is too big of a waste for me.

Today, though, I'm wearing Colo Club Wicked Sweet. Its an awesome shade of blue with some shimmer. I believe it was Scrangie who likened it to Zoya Phoebe with a top coat and I totally agree!

The smell is.............................. not cool. Its like fruit roll ups and VERY intense. Three coats opacity, top coat a MUST to tame that smell!
Photobucket
Here she is! The blue is too intense for my sad camera, but i think this is pretty close.
